Rabbi Yehoshua Rubinfeld was visiting the United States from his native Switzerland when he passed away after contracting COVID-19.

Rubinfeld grew up in the home of Holocaust survivors, who remained faithful to the Jewish traditions that they were persecuted for during World War II.

As a young man, he spent time studying in the famed Ponevezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak, Israel.

A popular member of the Ger Chassidic community in Zurich, Rubinfeld is remembered by his friends as a highly witty and intelligent man with a tremendous passion for studying Talmud, in addition to the wise and practical advice he would share with those who consulted with him.
