Claire Lieberman (Chaya Gittel) passed away on April 13 during the holiday of Passover. For more than five decades, she was the beloved preschool principal of Tomer Devora Girls School in Brooklyn, N.Y., known for the constant and dedicated care of her young charges.

Despite her own thriving career, she steadfastly supported her husband, Rabbi Avrohom “Abie” Boruch Lieberman, in his role as vice president of the Agudah Benevolent Society.

She was predeceased by her husband and their son, Rabbi Raphael Lieberman, a highly respected Talmudic scholar and teacher.

About five years ago, Lieberman moved from her longtime home base in the Borough Park neighborhood of Brooklyn to Lakewood, N.J., to be closer to her daughter.

She is survived by her three children and generations of grandchildren.
