Rabbi Gavriel Yabra passed away on April 1 after contracting COVID-19.
His father, 85-year-old Roberto Yabra, passed away weeks later, on April 17, due to complications from the disease, while his mother, Teresa, 79, was battling COVID-19 as of the end of April.
Observing the work of his father growing up, young Gavriel Yabra was witness to the inside secrets of kosher-food production and importing into Argentina.
He became a highly respected kosher-supervision expert, rising to head UK Kosher, the largest certification agency in South America, based in the capital city of Buenos Aires.
The beloved father and son were laid to rest side by side in the local Bene Emeth Sephardic cemetery in Buenos Aires.
Yabra is survived by his wife, eight children and many family members.
