Toba Perl, 83, passed away after complications due to COVID-19, followed days later by her husband, Rabbi Yosef Hersh Perl, 89, who passed away on April 4 after also contracting the coronavirus while he was sitting shiva for her.

The couple were stalwarts of the Viznitz community in Brooklyn, N.Y., before their move to Monsey in Upstate New York.
