The close-knit community of Créteil in the outer suburbs of Paris was dealt a devastating blow on April 10 with the sudden passing of Dr. Itshak Bokobza after he contracted COVID-19.

A family general practitioner, he was a role model and popular member of the thriving French community.

Bokobza is being celebrated for his kindness and care, and spiritually inspiring all those he came across, even distributing materials on the weekly Torah portion in the office of his medical practice.

He was a familiar presence in the local Chabad House, where mourners are remembering him for his careful and deliberate prayer.

Bokobza is survived by his wife, Ashman Chaya, and their six children.
