Toiba Jungreis passed away on April 12 after contracting COVID-19.

Despite the oft-repeated myth that Chassidic women take a backseat in the community, she developed a reputation as the backbone of the Techenger Chassidic dynasty, which is led by her husband, Rabbi Asher Anshil Jungreis.

During the course of their marriage, Jungreis worked to further her career and to build their family in a herculean effort to allow her husband to dedicate himself to serving the Jewish community and teaching Torah.

In recent years, she was diagnosed with ALS, yet continued to inspire the masses despite her suffering.

She is survived by her husband and children.
