Rabbi Dovid Olevski, a beloved leader in the Ger community in Brooklyn, N.Y., passed away on April 4 as a result of COVID-19 after a lifetime dedicated to teaching and guiding his flock.

For decades, Olevski served as the dean of the American branch of the Ger yeshivah, entrusted with the responsibility by the Rebbe, Rabbi Yaakov Aryeh Alter.

Before being struck with the coronavirus, Olevski was known as a powerful orator who loved to share an innovative Torah thought and a sought-out lecturer who made appearances at prominent events around the world.

He will be missed by his family, community and many students over the years.
