A devoted and learned Chassid, Rabbi Alter Avraham Simcha Friedman passed away on April 12 (18 Nissan) after battling various illnesses for several years and then contracting COVID-19.
His cousin, Dini Lebovic, paid tribute to him, recalling his constant desire to make others feel comfortable, as well as his warm sense of humor despite the many challenges he faced during his lifetime.
Friedman maintained his faith and belief even as his strength ebbed. He could always be seen studying from a Torah book when he had a spare moment.
He is survived by his wife and two brothers in Israel.
