For more than 35 years, Yaakov Meltzer juggled his work commitments as a physician’s assistant in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, N.Y., with his passion for serving his community as a volunteer first responder with Hatzalah, and he did so capably. He passed away on March 24.
Meltzer was also a Torah scholar and studied in his local yeshivah, Shaare Torah, for many years.
He was already in the hospital with cardiac concerns when he tested positive for COVID-19, complications of which led to heart failure.
