Shmuel Sifri was on a cruise with his wife, celebrating their 56th wedding, when he was exposed to the coronavirus. He passed away on March 26 due to complications from COVID-19.

The cruise ship at the time was near Turin in northwest Italy.

His daughter, Miri Citron, told Walla News: “My father loved to travel; it was part of his life. For us, it’s comforting to know that he died doing what he loved.”
