Moshe Orenstein, who survived World War II and the Holocaust, and emigrated to British Mandate Palestine in 1947, passed away on March 24 as a result of complications associated with COVID-19.
A year after he arrived, Israel was established as a modern-day state.
Orenstein fought in a number of the country’s wars.
He leaves behind two daughters, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
