As the first mourners conclude the seven-day shiva for loved ones who perished in the Tree of Life synagogue massacre, Pittsburgh rabbis held a communitywide evening of prayers and words of inspiration.

Billed “Stronger Together: An Evening of Jewish Unity,” the event was organized by the Vaad Harabanim (Rabbinic Committee) of Greater Pittsburgh and featured guest speaker Rabbi Yitzchok Schochet, rabbi of the Mill Hill Synagogue in London and chairman of the UK Rabbinical Council.

The event took place at Lubavitch Center (2100 Wightman St. in Squirrel Hill), which is just a mile away from the site of the massacre. In addition to the hundreds who attended, the event was streamed live on Chabad.org for the benefit of thousands more around the world.
