I love the night sky and have seen the moon so big and full that one can see almost as well as in daylight ... I can look at the moon whereas as to stare at the sun would cause blindness. How can one possibly appreciate light unless one has known darkness?

I grew up in the high country and saw beautiful majestic mountains around me, but never saw sunrises or sunsets until I moved to the plains. I'm glad for both experiences because there is beauty in both.

The same attitude can be applied to life. Living through some of life's dark moments is painful; however, in my case, my greatest growth has come from those dark moments and other challenges. I would not be who I am today without them.

Life is truly about the journey and not the destination. I’m grateful G-d provided me with a chance to find a few treasures along the way. Reply

what about the evil on the highway What about the bad things that happen, are they on the highway? My mother had 9 brothers and sisters, all were killed, murdered, in the holocaust. Is that a hidden passage? My mother would gladly have accepted a streetlamp, some kind of guide, to help her cope. Perhaps, we can ignore the bad things that happen, make believe they did not occur, and live in a fantasy that Hashem is all good. Tell that to the four men killed in Israel recently while praying in shul? Why does Hashem get a pass, and is not held accountable for the evil and bad things? So we can freedom of choice? Is freedom of choice worth 6 million murders? Is freedom of choice worth beheadings by ISIS? Let's give up the highway, and take the kind and moral way where all are equal, and none can kill for holiness. Reply

I don't believe in any darkness only pure Light. The path is made very easy, good and right ! The world is beautiful. I see nothing BUT joy. There no hard work when you do every with with appreciation and love. I realize God's goodness and he blessed me. I am much thankful that i can speak the TRUTH and do good deeds in my LIFE. Reply

The Path G-D takes us on a journey. This journey is along the path of righteousness. We see the thing HE wants us to see so that in enriching our knowledge in the wisdom of G-D we can come our wiser then when we began. It's the journey along that path that prepares us to become better people of the living G-D and better people to others. This earthy tent travels along life's path guided by the LORD our protector. Dark Paths My Great Aunt Ada told me these words (she is in Heaven now): The path you seek and what you think of where you are will change, change always happens and what you think you will do now, will not be what you thought it was going to be. But what you do will be your destiny. The path will take you to Heaven. This article was great and reminded me of her. Reply

Secrets h says that those that assume they're on the path will not find a place in heaven. This is the kind of ego centric, prejudiced and frankly presumptuous thinking that really turns me off about religion. Of course, the writer didn't say this, but perhaps he agrees with it. The saying is a rationalization. We don't know what we don't know because of our limitations as humans. To assume we don't know because its part of some great plan, or worse to think that we know something special, seems to me the opposite of what we need to do. Perhaps accepting our limitations and then humbly stumbling along, doing our best to live up to example of the Prophets and our great teachers is what our job is. And to have enough humility to not judge others because the only thing we know for sure is that we KNOW how limited we ourselves are in wisdom. Reply

I would have preferred... the streetlamps. I am not that holy yet, that I find the secret paths and the hidden treasures so easily. I often run into wrong ways instead and then have to find the way back.

Don't focus? Perhaps more can be discovered in the light than in the dark. There is still a journey in the light, but I agree, you need to look about to see it. Thanx. Reply
