After the proposition of all the above concepts, I will proceed to my request and entreaty: Explanations were given above in the interpretation of the verses [authored by] Shlomoh and David his father; the holy kings and the G‑dly sages, in whom the sublime attribute of kingship actually rested. This is true [not only with regard to them. These concepts explain] the manner in which G‑dly light is drawn down to the king on the earthly plane in every generation.
From this, inference can be made regarding the divergence of the third ray1 from the luminance of the earthly king’s countenance to his prominent officers2 who are referred to as the ministers of the kingdom who conduct the affairs of the kingdom. To each one [of these officers] shines a unique dimension of the light of truth and justice that [shines within] the king himself. This light shines from the sublime light [vested] in the sublime attribute of kingship that shines forth from G‑d’s glory to [all] kings on this earthly plane without any distinction at all.
For this reason, it is understood that, as a natural consequence, a ray of the light of truth from the power of the king shines within your honor3 in the powerful portion of his kingdom allotted you by our master, the Czar, may his glory be exalted, this being almost a tenth of his entire glorious kingdom, may it be upraised and exalted severalfold.
If so, certainly, your eyes will see righteousness, and distinguish and differentiate between the good and the bad and between truth and falsehood. For you have the authority and the option [to make this] distinction with a natural gift more than all other people and judges for the reasons explained above based on the verses authored by King David:4 “May my judgment issue forth from Your presence” and by King Shlomoh:5 “My son, fear G‑d and the king.”
Therefore I desire that the judgment be issued by you, for you will focus on the point of inner truth, for “Your eyes will see righteousness,”3 without deviating to the right or the left.
I will accept [your ruling] lovingly and willfully,as [is required by] the law and dictates of the sublime King. I am confident that in the purity of your heart, in all your ways and paths, you will bring my judgment to light and deal graciously with me as befits your abundant kindness and goodness. [I am certain that] you will look upon me favorably and take me under the shade of your kindness, to remove from me all accusations so that they will not be accepted by you ever again. This is sufficient for a person of understanding.
