Rain-making Through Charity
Kabbalah teaches that giving charity completes the Holy Name above.
The sefira of malchut is called "poor" because it only receives the abundance channeled to Her from the higher sefirot. On its own, in exile from the higher sefirot, it has nothing. A poor person is under the control of harsh judgment; everything he eats is from this level of judgment in the place that is called "righteousness", or malchut.
Based on Zohar Vayikra 113b
"And I will give you peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid."

When night falls and man lies in his bed, numerous seekers of judgment stir up in the world and come out and roam around. At this time, men should tremble before G-d and fear Him so that their souls...will be saved from them.
