I enjoyed this story very much. I knew much of it already, but this telling goes into more detail, and I learned a great deal from reading it. And to think I was brought here out of curiosity after seeing a short story on a TV news magazine about hamantashen, in which someone mentioned that the name of the Almighty is not mentioned in the Book of Esther! The most amazing thing in the entire Purim story is Esther's request to hang Haman's sons on the morrow. The morrow became actual 2,304 years later when ten Nazis were hanged.
The list of Haman's sons have four letters that are not of equal size to the rest of the scroll.
The large ו hints to the 6th millennium, the three small letters, תשז hint to the year 707. In the year 5707, on the day of Hoshana Rabbba, ten Nazi's were hanged, just as Esther requested. Her adding the word "on the morrow" meant in the future. Reply

Strange I couldn't sleep tonight I wanted to have a drink to sleep, not remembering it was Purim. Opened a bottle of wine then it dawned upon me. Drank the bottle and read this story. Reply

The Complete Story of Purim Amazing to find out so many things about this story that were unknown to the majority of people. Like everything else, most of the teachings of the TaNak was distorted over the years. Thank you so much for bringing us to the light. The True Torah of Light. Many in the stories are not found in the bible.

skeptics and the authenticity As we are studying the holiday, I can't help but think that perhaps the records on this historical accounts have been antisemitically erased. Such is the hatred of our people that as you research it through secular history all you hear is that Esther is legend or myth and not a historical account of our deliverance. How do you answer to their denying of such true account with evidence of dates and names? Reply

Purim story THank you so much for printing this. I have just read it to myself and my husband, We are religious people but we still need to hear more details and this was magnificent, inspirational, moving.

We didn't know anything about the throne and how many times it was taken away into various places.

Vashti's hatred of the Jews I was surprised to learn of Vasti's hatred of the Jews and her evil persecutions of Jewish children on Shabat. Please add more to this story about Vashti.

Of course, I'm very impressed with Esther's courage, bravery and strategy in destroying Haman's strongholds. Especially Esther's strategy of inviting Haman to sup with her and the King. God truly blessed Esther's power as a woman. Of course, the best scenario was when the King saw Haman fall upon the Queen's bed...I'm sure it was that moment when Haman's fate was sealed! Along with Haman's seed!!
It appears that not only did Esther destroy Haman's evil stongholds to murder the Jews, but she also strengthened the King's reverence for their marriage. Hail to our God who has strengthened us all!!! Reply

Purim Story Thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. Never knew it in its entirety..loved the jewish schoolchildren part the most! Great learning of the devotion, loyalty and trust in G-d.. Reply
