Levi Herrera Melbourne, Australia April 3, 2025

8/10 , not too bad I think, I admit that question 2 was a tricky one for me but what really upset me is that I am a Sephardi and I knew the answer and I still went for answer 1.
Anyhow I will try my best for the next quiz. I love these quizzes. Can’t get enough of them.
To everyone I wish you all "Chag Pesach kasher vesame'ach.” Reply

9/10. I do not eat the roasted egg or the bone on the Sedar Plate.
I wish you a Healthy, Happy and Peaceful Passover and Always. Reply

Holly Texas April 3, 2025

10 out of 10…but by my merit? No, it is because of the teacher, full of kindness and mercy! He allows a “pop-quiz” first, and once I correct the answers I got wrong, I take the final test and voila! 10 out of 10 and wiser for it! Todah rabah Rabbi! Reply

Charles H Stilwell Manchester April 3, 2025

10 out of 10 Reply

Minucha Chicago April 3, 2025

This was a difficult quiz. I got 9 out of 10 correct. Many of my answers were guesses. Reply

Herman Vancouver April 8, 2025
in response to Minucha:

9/10 yes it was a little bit difficult but the three wrong answers given on all questions where so outside reality that it made it quite easy Reply

Pauline England April 3, 2025

Thank you for this. I was sure it was roasted. It is boiled first but then roasted/charred in the oven, or can be done on the stove top. Some time ago I recall hearing about it even being done by turning it around when burning a match. Reply

the egg is boiled; the chicken neck is roasted.

It’s boiled Reply

Jim Krämer Pittsburgh, PA, USA April 3, 2025
in response to Rakdan:

I never knew anyone who roasted an egg for the Seder. It was always hard boiled and in the shell. How does one roast an egg? I have been cooking since age 9, am 65 now, and never had a roasted egg. Would you share your recipe? I'm always up for new flavours and ideas. Reply

R S April 3, 2025

we boil it Reply

in response to Rakdan:

the zeroa is roasted
the egg is boiled Reply

Rakdan Chicago April 4, 2025
in response to Pesach:

It turns out that minhag Chabad is to boil the egg. There are various customs, and it seems that roasting (after first boiling) is more common. The egg is often referred to as a roasted egg. Reply

Michael L BERRYVILLE, VA April 4, 2025
in response to Jim Krämer:

I was always taught that it was a roasted egg. You could boil it first and then put it in the oven until it was longing burnt. I knew one family that wrapped the egg in the outer layers(s) of any onion to help brown the egg.
Some people spell some words either TZ or Z like the zeroak Reply

C England April 5, 2025
in response to Jim Krämer:

You do boil it first then 'roast' by either popping it in an oven for a while to brown it; brown it under a grill (Americans call it broiling) or even with a match turning in all instances to get a brown even colour. Reply

Herman Vancouver April 8, 2025
in response to Jim Krämer:

Yes you can indeed roast an egg the next time you have a barbecue put an egg on the roast it is not the most common way of cooking an egg but it can be done Reply

Raymond West Hollywood April 1, 2025

I scored a 9/10. The only one I got wrong was the one about what is the name of the seder plate. I so much did not know the answer to that one, that even after I saw the correct answer, it still did not sound familiar to me at all Reply

Ja'akov Markus Amsterdam April 3, 2025
in response to Raymond :

Raymond this was also the only question I missed. Ka'arah was an option but.... Reply
