One of the Alter Rebbe's early teachings, then called verter1 (lit. "words," short sayings):

Sh'ma Yisrael2 - a Jew3 senses4 that

Havayeh5 Elokeinu - our strength and life6 is beyond nature,7 and

Havayeh Echad - Havayeh is One.

Compiled and arranged by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory, in 5703 (1943) from the talks and letters of the sixth Chabad Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, of righteous memory.
