Sunday: Seeing and Believing

Here's the rub for me in my life...when a choice I make/made resulted in harm to others G-d is giving me the choice to respond in G-d's way or I can make the wrong choices by choosing the carnal way. Each evil decision I choose results in the experienced option to make G-d's choice next time. Okay, question: I'm realizing G-d will still bless the strive to do His will even if I don't learn immediately...each choice is practice for the next decision. G-d will still bless the efforts but I won't walk in His full measure of joy/grace till I choose right consistantly. Am I progressing towards correct wisdom? Reply

Is G-d playing game with us? Why tempt us in order for H-m to know that we will make the right choice; in order for us to know that we are willing & capable to make the right choice? Reply

Whenever a person develops internally through the practice then the free choices for the greater good can be implemented.in the past I was not able to realise and in some you can see that the structure of fearing change is lodged within. Reply

Do we have to pull our hand away from the fire to know that it’s hot and we’ll get burned? I should hope not!
Then why can’t we as adults learn how to make good choices? I realize none of us are perfect, but those who just keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again is disgusting. One would think that after at least once or twice we would’ve learned our lessons and learned how to behave with the appropriate behavior. But I suppose their are those who just get a thrill out of being bad time after time, or they need extra attention, or maybe they’ve never learned how to distinguish right from wrong. Even though we all think that everyone came from appropriate families where everyone was reared with some type of faith, there are many children and adults who never had appropriate home lives and religious upbringings. We all want to believe that this technological world we all live in has made all of us smarter, but somewhere along the way I think we forgot to bring G d in. Reply

Need Not Suffering for Joy, Ev`l for Good None need curses to appreciate blessings or ev`l to appreciate good. A child understands this. We need not force the child to taste lemon juice (& its tartness) just so the child may choose honey. Honey & virtue & goodness & blessings & light & joy & heaven has no need for non-sweetness or vice or non-goodness or non-blessings or darkness or non-joy or non-heaven. Even the child does not say "I feel unworthy of the honey for I the tartness of lemon juice was not forced upon me, or I am unaware of freewill because I was never made to choose between honey and lemon juice". As a parent we are glad when our children only know truth and know not how to lie, when they only know wealth and comfort & know not poverty or dis-ease. Similarly ought to be with God : only heaven and only blessings & nothing less would do. And this is why God is only Light & there is no darkness in Him. Reply

Real Life Confirmation I can testify to the truth of this wisdom. It was only while suffering the trials of incarceration that I was able to take the time to discover Tanya, Chassidus, and make my own personal connection with Hashem. My life has turned 180 degrees because of my ability to take advantage of this horribly hard episode in my life into the platform upon which my faith stands today.
Every time I don tefillin, every time I eat a meal in my kosher home, every time I attend Chabad services, every time I find a way to contribute some tzedakah, every time I study Torah, every time I receive the multiple blessings in my life, I can look back and say that this time of my life was not negative but wholly positive. I am a more observant and engaged Jew because of it. Reply
