Jewish History

R. Nassan Nata Schapiro was a saintly scholar who was proficient in both Talmud and kabbalah. He served as rabbi of Cracow, and authored Megaleh Amukos, a kabbalistic Torah commentary.

Daily Thought

You are G‑d’s sewing needle.

Your mitzvahs are His thread. Now you can understand all these journeys of your life: You are pulling a thread, stitching together the confusion of this world into a single, meaningful story of wisdom and divine truth.

Out of chaos, a beautiful patchwork of many colors.

As a needle, you must be firm and sharp to pierce through this world.

And as a needle, you must also have an opposite side: An opening, a nothingness, an empty place to hold a long divine thread.

Be as a sewing needle. Be tough. Be humble. You are stitching together a beautiful world.
