Did You Know That Chabad.org Is in 8 Languages?

Dear Friend,

This week we’re excited about a new (and already very popular) listicle featuring 7 classic Jewish books that were originally written in Arabic.

While there is not (yet) an Arabic-language edition of Chabad.org, we are so very proud that Chabad.org has dynamic sister sites in Hebrew, Spanish, Russian, French, German, Portuguese, and Italian.

Much of what you’ll find on these sites is the same as what you can read in English, but there’s also lots of original material (and video) on each platform, unique to the interests and needs of the diverse populations they serve.

Are you comfortable in one of those 7 languages? How about a friend? Please browse around, sign up for the magazine, and enjoy the pleasure of Judaism in the language of your choice.

Notice re 7 books reprinted in various languages I am french born but able in various other languages specially French Englich nd Norwegian

Anything from Saadia Gaon z"l, Yehoudah Halevy z"l and others too many to mention are of interest to me , whose articles I receive from Chabad, read them and translate them for the use of my children or friends very close to me. The deplorable plight of Yiddish in Chabad.org I have already written to you in Yiddish and English concerning the fact that Yiddish is a disadvantaged language on your site.
You boast about the fact that Chabad.org now exists in 8 languages, including German (?!), Russian, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian. Unfortunately for Lubavitch and for Jews in general, the wonderfully expressive Yiddish language, which has served the Jewish people for more than a thousand years, is not on the agenda. You're preaching and furthering assimilation beyond the shadow of a doubt. If you have nothing to offer the Yiddish-reading public, it's a sad state of affairs. The Lubavitcher Rebe, R' Menachem-Mendl Shneyerson, whom I had the honor and privilege of seeing and listening to on many occasions (in the Yiddish language exclusively) would not approve of your antisemitic ban on our Yiddish mamë-loshn. Where is your Jewish loyalty and sense of fairness?

With all due respect, I believe chabad.org's agenda is to make Torah accessible to people that would otherwise not access it as much.
Most people that speak Yidish do not fit in that category.
Additionally, Chabad.org is obviously starting with the languages spoken by the greatest amount of Jews. So even if Yidish speaking Jews needs chabad.org, there are definitely not enough of them to make it feasible.

I started with Chabad over 5 years ago,on line and.Am extremely happy with them because can not read hebrew,so it is good for me.That everything is in English also get the magazine,Jewish Women,letters from the Rebbe,Daily Dose.Also much more so again I am extremely grateful that I can partake of all this,in English.
