Kids in Palm Beach, Florida, have been learning table manners and what it means to eat Jewishly. At the hands-on etiquette class, the children ate supper while learning how to eat politely, including which utensils to use for which foods, and how to hold them correctly. At the same time, the children learned Jewish table etiquette—which blessings to say both before and after eating, how to wash hands when eating bread, the idea of giving tzeddakah before cooking and the importance of inviting guests and showing gratitude to the cook.
Everyone went home with a certificate and a placemat outlining everything they learned.
