Fibromyalgia and the Power of Touch

I slumped in a stool, grading papers with happy face stickers because it hurt to write, and wearing headphones because the noise of the classroom sent painful shivers through my body. "Miss, can we hug you?" Reggie asked trembling, pushing his dreadlocks back from his face...

Aliza and Fibromyalgia
Dear Aliza - Thank you for your article. I am thankful that at the age of 77 I have been diagnosed with FM after years of not knowing what was wrong with me. Now I am receiving help and guidance and starting to cope. It seems that everything we are given has lessons to teach. Thanks to Ha-Shem I am finding my way at last. It was so good to read of your experience in the context of keeping the mitzvot.

Shalom, I for the past few years have been learning more and more about Judaism and want to know more and for the past 2 yrs with my husbands help turned our home into a totally kosher home. he says if it is not kosher it is not in our home. no idols either. your article helped me since I dont have any women friends to teach me what a jewish woman can do. I take 3 classes a week online to learn more.

A truly wonderful story. It reminds us that we learn from all of life's lessons and others learn from us. Thank you!
