Allergy-Free Passover Recipes

Food allergies still do bring lots of challenges as many of the traditional foods eaten on Passover contain one or more of the Big Eight. We try to have fun in our house, but at the same time, get back to the basics with simple ingredients...

allergy free passover
Your suggestions are great! My 2 yr old grandson is allergic to eggs, dairy, sesame, nuts (not almonds) lentils and peas. do you have any more suggestions for Pesach recipes? He likes chicken and potatoes but a week and a half of it can get boring. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! My daughter does not have email so i am trying to help her!

Flavoring Whip
What is flavoring Whip...is that a brand name? Can/would you please be a bit more specific. with the prices of everything for Pesach i would hate to purchase the wrong item and be stuck with it. As it is, one feels that it is almost necessary to donate blood to pay for the excessive prices.

hey everyone
Sorry, I don't have cake recipes. My youngest until recently was allergic to potatoes so I didn't bother with the pot. starch. For dessert we eat a lot of fresh fruit, icies, and if you use processed products the ice cream is yummy! My biggest suggestion is to get spice and spirit the kosher for passover addition. LOADS of great recipes that are safe of the top 8 and lots of ideas. I highly suggest the sweet and sour meatball recipe. The sauce is good on pretty much everything. My boys love it on turkey and chicken!

wow
Well, your article stopped my wallowing in self- pity. The only food item in my house we have to be about is eggs. Thanks for the suggestions. The salad spread in lieu of fish course is a great idea. The meatball soup sounds delicous, and even my non-allergic kids will be very excited if I serve french fries as you suggested! Have you tried quinoa? It's much easier to digest than gobs of potatoes. For dessert, sorbet has less chemicals than pesadich pareve ice cream. Does anyone out there have suggestions on making egg-free gefilte fish?

whip and prices
I think there was an editing mistake on that recipe. The last line should just be flavoring (which I give examples for in the instructions) and the stuff in the parentheses should be next to the whipped topping. Sorry about the error.
As for prices, I can't honestly say as they vary from store to store and state to state.

First of all, eggs on pesach is a huge toughie!! It kills so many recipes and because the lack of subs makes life much harder!!! Quinoa we had a luke warm questionable pass this winter so while I make it, the little two don't eat it yet. Last year I took loads of yummy veggies and sauteed them chopping really small. I added quinoa and broth and let it cook. I than hollowed out zucchini and eggplants and stuffed them. I topped with tomato sauce and baked 350 till the shells were cooked through. HUGE success with our guests. sorbet is yummy but most recipes call for eggs :( Egg free gefilta fish I have not tried as two of the kids are ana. Have you considered steaming a white fish with a nice white wine sauce or salmon with a salsa on top. LOTS of great other fish recipes in the spice and spirit pesach cookbook!!

please post more recipes
I'm going to try some of these recipies. If you have time to share other ones (holiday or non-holiday), that would be wonderful. Thank you for posting these allergy-free dishes. Best to you and you family.
