Weaving Round Challah



Round challahs are most traditionally used for the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah....

love that round Rosh Hashana Challah! I live in a town with very few Jews and no kosher challahs available so have learned to make my own! A very big deal for me! do you have any vegan R.H. recipes? I have two people coming for dinner and both are vegans - oy!!

I often make challah bread. Everywhere I go I take it with me and it is always a hit with everybody. The funny thing is that I am not Jewish.

sweetened dried cranberries
I use Craisins brand in place of raisins in my challah . The red berries really add to the fun. Also they are one of the 1st new fruits of the season.

Thank you for this article on how to shape a perfect round challah. I usually make and braid my own challah for shabbat but i have always found getting the shape for a perfect round challah for the high holidays a real challenge so i look forward to giving this a go!

Beautiful I have always done the braided round challah, but this one is just beautiful, thank you, this year Rosh Hashanah will be much better with such a challah.

eggs-free
Thank you for this beautiful idea of round Challa and how to made the challa special for the chag.I will try but without eggs because one of my kids cannot eat them but I'm sure all my guest will love the new shape!!
