Every Day In Every Way
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Chabad dot Org is my home page. I stay connected to my roots everyday. Every day I learn, I'm reminded, I'm entertained and enlightened. I wouldn't know what to do without my daily dose of wisdom, laughter and yes a little pain....
Thank you!!!

This was GREAT!!!
Great way to send a message!
Maybe a few more categories for titles to send.
I have friends with Sephardic names and the "Rabbi Gram" did not accept them. Also not some of the Jewish ones. Not a criticism, but maybe good for you to know.
Some other enjoyed activities could be: working too hard, procrastinating.

Rabbi-gram
Fabulous! I LOVE It! Sent one to everyone I know (Jews & non-Jews)! It is a WONDERFUL way to greet the new year! How about adding some work titles- like Artist, Tourism, Construction, Farmer, Soldier (Jews do LOTS of stuff!)... and from "chaver", "chaverah", "yaidid", "yedidah", "shlemiel", etc... the possibilities are Endless! Shigaon! :-)

Wishes do come true. I haven't had a lot of New Year's wishes, only one other than this. So this was extra special to get a speical Barukha.
Thanks Chabad for remembering!

I shared a New Year greeting with my brother in Wien, Austria. Super! I only wish that Rabbi Itche Kadoozy could pronounce my name Mikhal/Michal. Nevertheless, a lot of fun!

shana tova cards
by the time you find the cards, rosh hashana is over. Why do you have to make so complicated to find a simple nice card to send, it Can be done so EASY and fast !

Rebbi's call
It seem very nice in the beginning, but I don't like part where they ask for donation, it sounds like an ad.
Posted By Elana

Posted: Sep 7, 2007
Is it for real?
I received the email about this card on September 7. Which means that mass mailing of this ad was on or around that date. The two reviews on September 7 were quite sobering, one mentioning the donations, the other complexity. And then - all the previous reviews were just extatic ! (Wow! Wonderful! etc, etc.). With all due respect to Chabad, do I miss something here. It is nice to send Rosh Hashanah cards to the fellow Jews and I'm going to do just that, but I hate to be taken for sucker Too many organizations did it before, so I might sound 'burned out' but that's what I feel.

To the kvetches
To all those kvetching about the "pitch" for a donation to chabad.org: these things do cost money to be produced, you know. Would you rather chabad.org charged us to send them???

Rosh Hashana E mail greeting
WHAT a beautiful idea. But this does need to be worked on.

1. you have not given a wide enough general list of selections to select from.

2. what possessed you to list a choice of amiga or amigo? Any reason? i am not even going to begin to tell you how this rubbed me the wrong way! what is wrong with usig the Hebrew words chaver or chavera or Just FRIEND?

3. the way you used to insert to solicit contributions for Chabad was very badly stated and in very bad taste. I am a big supporter of Chabad and it was 'embarrassing' to me. Certainly, I would never send out this e mail to any of my family and or friends.

This part does need to be worked on..and maybe in this case, solicitations should not be used.

The e mail itself would be such a beautiful 'advertisement' of all that Chabad does...

People are going to be left with that ending...of money money money...it just isn't going to sit well with anyone 'outside' of being involved with all that Chabad does good.

I can't imagine anyone being offended by the request for a donation. It's unobtrusive and blends right into the humor -- not in your face at all. In any case, you hear the whole thing before you send it. So if you don't like, don't use it. (your loss though -- it the most amazing thing to hit the Jewish web since Itche Kadoozy!)

I think we SHOULD donate, we had a laugh and i respect the Rabbi's message. I think it appropriate to donate for this little peace of invaluable advice. Thanks for bringing me closer to Abraham.
Posted By Rebekah Cohen-Goldberg, Jerusalem, The one and only Israel

Sooo cool!
And as for the complaints about the donation pitch at the end -- I think this is a delightful way for a worthy organization to try to cover their budget. Not in-your-face, just cute, and completely not intimidating.

Keep it up Chabad.org!

donation
Hey, my Daughter sent this to me and used the service. I think, therefore, that its only right that SHE make the donation! No? HA HA
Posted By Rick

What a Riot!
Loved the card, have already sent it to a couple of people. I hope whoever thought this up makes it available for other occasions.

Regarding the donation -- hey, I get asked for money in far less amusing ways!

These people do good work and though I'm not the frummiest (?) of people, I don't mind sending them a little support.

Shanah Tovah people.

Rabbi-gram
This is just great! I took a chance and sent one to a relative from whom I had become estranged. He liked it so much that he emailed me back, and at least now we are speaking. Only Rabbi Itche Kadoozy could have pulled that off. You guys at Chabad did a good thing when you came up with this one.

Judgemental? I hope not
This was quite a surprise. In the message the Rabbi says it's his "job" to be "judgemental" Since when does Chabad judge people? None of the Rabbis I met do. Why point out someone's negative qualities this time of year. The message didn't even give you a choice to leae it off...you had to judge your fellow Jew on some negative axis. The teaching I learned was we don't focus on people's negative qualities and are never judgemental.
Or is that the point...this Rabbi is approaching the holidays wrong by only focusing on the dark instead of the light?

suggestions
This is a great concept, but let me offer a suggestion. There are so few choices within the various categories. For example, the relative that drives my friend nuts is her brother. Yet you had nothing for brother/sister. She loves acting and theater. What about including "entertaining" or theater or acting? Perhaps the choices within categories can be expanded.

Rabbi I'm assuming YOU are Jewish-
How can you not say Batsheva or Tzivia or Brynna???
They are Jewish names!!
So I had to use my secular name which we never call each other!
C"mon, you can say a list of Jewish names into your lexicon of computer digits or whatever those things are called.
You're funny and pret-ty good, pretty pretty good.
