"I'm trying to make a bow and arrow," Ben said. "I'm trying to find some nice strong sticks that I could use for the arrows, and a long springy one that could be the bow..."

This week: "We have just completed two stages. I have been selected to play for the team, and my team has been selected to play in the tournament. Now we are starting again, as we have to climb the next mountain..."

"David!" Ben shouted, trying to catch his little brother's attention. "Please, G‑d, don't let the iPod be lost..." Ben said in a silent prayer.

"He was one of the most inspiring teachers we've had," Ben said. "He managed to make us feel like we were in control of our studies and that we could do better or worse based on our choices."

"You know what," said David's older brother Ben, "we could build our own model plane!" "How could we do that?" David asked wide eyed. "They seem so complicated and detailed..."

Adam had been enjoying the splashing but was starting to feel that he was wasting his time in the shallow end with boys who didn't even know how to swim.

"It was just funny, because it still felt like Mr. Benson was teaching the class. If you would ask me who taught the Sedra this week, I would say Mr. Benson, even though he wasn't there."

"Did you know," Ben said, "that if this would be a non kosher egg, like an owl's egg, and it would fall into a pot of food, then the whole pot-full of food would become non-kosher?"

"It doesn't sound as if he cares whether we win or lose," Ben said to David as they jogged out to the field. "All he says is, 'if you do this you will win, if you do that you will lose.' It's all 'if you,' 'if you.'"
