Vivi, I never knew! I feel like I was reading a "prequel" to a favorite story. Just the fact that I didn't know your history, that you never boasted or even mentioned it, speaks louder than anything about your family's special qualities. I believe everything they say about your mother through knowing you. I'm privileged beyond any measure to have had you available at such a crucial time in my life.

What an inspiring piece of writing. There is nothing left to be said. She lives on in her wonderful children and grandchildren, and we South African Jews are proud to have one of them, Rabbi Oshy Deren, as one of our most respected teachers.

It was an honor to meet Rebetzin Posner in person in Palm Springs California.

How sad & odd for me having come to Cong. Sherith Israel only 2 years ago, davened with Reb Zalmon Posner and had a child in the Akiva school born of their commitment to Jewish education in Nashville and never met Risya.
Thank you for the compelling history and story of her children's successful struggle to encourage all jews to be more observant. As one of "those" Jews who did not grow up Lubavitcher or even orthodox, who struggles to match my non-observant past with a future of observance their story is inspiring.
I can only hope the presence of so many in our community was of comfort to Reb Posner upon her passing.
