Purim Farbrengen 5733 (1973)

Experience a Purim Gathering with the Lubavitcher Rebbe, of Righteous Memory
An hour-long excerpt of an original archival recording of the Rebbe's farbrengen (gathering) on Purim 1973.
What is a Farbrengen?
A farbrengen is a joy-filled gathering with song and camaraderie, toasts of l'chaim and heartfelt words from one friend to another, words meant to inspire and fortify, to help us forge forward in whatever we must do. Small wonder then, that the Rebbe's primary mode of teaching was the farbrengen.
Program Overview
Talk 1: All That You Can Be
A lesson from King Achashverosh in how to actually make the best uses of one's talents and resources.
Talk 2: A Jew is a Jew is a Jew
The identity of a Jew remains unchanged even if he or she has left the fold or has been born to a family that has already assimilated.

Purim Alegre
I was born in 1973, and I find myself in quite a Galut today, the Fast of Esther. I ordered a Megillah just for the ocasion. After hearing the Rebbe's words on the Megillat Esther and the analogy of Achashverosh and taking our G-d given talents to the limit, I feel inspired. I seem to have a knack for finding Jews in the most unlikely of places, and reminding them and others that they are Jewish and G-d is our G-d! Purim Alegre to everyone, and thank G-d for the Rebbe and this timely message.

chaim potok
Yes. It is Chaim Potok. It was his second fabrengen by the rebbe, and he was planing on writing about chassidim in a negetive light. It is very probable that this changed that plan. If you listen to the full fabrengen, you will hear the transalator saying how there were many reporters and writers there then, probably as a result of the previous year's fabrengen which the rebbe spoke about 11 nissan.

very inspiring
I hadn't listen to a dvar torah since a long time ago. I' m glad that was today with the Rebbe. The white and blue tapestry of Achashverosh over it's 127 countries is exactly the color of the Israeli flag. Now instead of haman we have hamas trying to get rid of us. My deepest sympathy to the Fogel family

Chaim Potok
Did I see Chaim Potok there amidst the crowd? Sitting at the Rebbe's table on the Rebbe's left? If that WAS him, that would have been very interesting, as the Rebbe was speaking about "utilizing one's potential to the max", including one who has talents writing....

Just an observation...

Please publish more full size farbrengens! It benefits us so much to connect to the teachings of the Rebbe in a much deeper way! To feel like you are right there with the Rebbe!
