Dreidel Song

Dreidel Song

Dreidel music with lyrics

E-mail

I have a little dreidel
I made it out of clay
And when it’s dry and ready
Oh dreidel, I shall play

Oh, dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
I made you out of clay
And when you’re dry and ready
Oh Dreidel we shall play

Oh, dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
I made you out of wood
And when you are all ready
I’ll play you when I could

Oh, dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
I made you out of glass
And when you are all ready
I’ll play you on the grass

Oh, dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
I made you out of gold
And when you are all ready
I’ll play you in the cold

Dreidel
I've sung this song for goodness only knows hwo many years now this year I found some suitably sized wood in our wood bag at work, I'm still new to woodcarving but, I managed to gradually carve the sides down they sloped to meet at a central point in the middle. Now whenever I think fo this song I slot in I have a little Dreidel I made it out of wood or even I carved it out of wood stil haven't thought of something which sounds suitable as a substitue for when ti's dry and ready though

I have a little dreidel

I made it out of clay

And when it's dry and ready

Then dreidel I shall play

CHORUS

Oh dreidel dreidel dreidel

I made it out of clay

And when it's dry and ready

Then dreidel I shall play

It has a lovely body

With legs so short and thin

And when it is so tired

It drops and then I win!

CHORUS

My dreidel's always playful

It loves to dance and spin

A happy game of dreidel

Come play now, let's begin!

Oh, dreidel, dreidel, dreidel,
I made you out of tin,
And when I find the time,
I sit and give you a spin.

The song "I Have A Little Dreidel" was originally written by my Grandfather, Samuel E. Goldfarb. Mr. Alevsky changes the words and music a bit, having fun with it. I'm sure my Grandpa would have approved!

Thanks, I loved listening to all the songs. I am a great grandmother and want to teach the kids these songs and wasn't sure of the melody.
