Har Sinai

apropos the Temple being built not at the mountain peak - Hashem gave the Torah on little Har Sinai to show us that we should be humble - so why didn't He give it in a valley? because we have to have Jewish pride (not personal but national and Torahdik). There is a time for humility and a time to lift up our heads...
