Yitro – Six Days You Shall...?

The fourth of the Ten Commandments that we read about in this week’s Torah portion, is the commandment to honor and observe the Shabbat, the holy Sabbath.

G-d instructs the people of Israel that for “Six days you shall labor and accomplish all of your work. And on the seventh day you shall rest, it is a Sabbath unto the L-rd."

Now, why is it important that we work for six days? We can understand the commandment to rest, but why are we commanded to work?

Tune in to this week's Parshah Cast and discover a timeless message that helps bring meaning and purpose to our day to day lives, even the six workdays.
