Re: Confused
G-d promises us in the Torah that if we obey the commandments then He will provide us with all sorts of material blessing. If we did what we were told, then we are deserving of being looked after. However, this promise is itself a gift, that G-d chose to promise to reward us. Therefore, even when one prays with a justified request, he/she should ask for G-d's gift, in addition to the fact that what we deserve is very little next to the amount that he can gift us with.

now i'm really confused...
I wonder whether i could get some answers about the differences between Prayer=Tefila and Supplication=Tchina . You say that Prayer is for something the person praying , deserves.
So it is a request or reminder to Hashem to for payback...
Whereas Tchinah, supplication is asking for a matana=gift, an undeserved giving from the Almighty just beacause we cry strong enough.
I am uncomfortable with both explanations.
It seems to me that Hashem does not owe us anything. And there is no way to know if what we have and receive every day, is because we prayed for it or because it's a gift from a good deed from my great grand mother that Hashem happens to decide to shower upon me. Just like rightheous that don't seem to get their prayers answered even though the whole world can tesrify to their being deserving. There seems to be something I miss in your eloquent lecture.
Your ellucidation would be greatly appreciated.
