According to Maimonides, he would have to be a man, since a king can only be a man. On the other hand, it is said of that time that the woman will be the "crown of her husband"--above the man, as the crown is above the head. So I'm not sure how exactly that will work out.

As they say, we'll have to wait and see. I'm all for less waiting and more seeing.
