Re: The reason that ten pieces are put out before the search is to ensure that Chametz will definitely be found while searching one's house. Being that we make a blessing on the search for Chametz, we want to ensure that we actually find some.

If one has already searched for Chametz in their home and has made a blessing there, there is no need to place a further ten pieces when searching in their office. Reply

Thank you, how do you do Bdika in the office before Pesach? No blessing but do you still put out 10 pieces? Reply

Practical Halachah: Passover, Part 1 Ok I will try to do this and will start preparing for Passover not because I am forced to or have been lead in this direction. Rather I must do good and righteous Tzaddikim minded reflections on Passover and clean my self up before Hashem. Reply
