A child shouldn’t be expected to be a miniature replica of his parent. Individual character traits need to be honed and channeled.

the Raising of a child l'dor va dor: windows
You are beautiful and wise, Chana. It's so much about being in tune, isn't it? It seems there is a deep connect with music, and also how we encourage the muse and also, amuse our children. We need light in the raising of children, as rising is part of the dance, to fly, to sing, to rejoice, to experience wonder. What is so true of children is the wonder they bring to life, a kind of innocence, and we need to nurture and not squash this. Children are inherently creative and need to be encouraged in that creativity, in all ways. Words can be hurtful, can be swords, and they can also elevate, in positivity and love.

It seems these articles are about digging, about finding the geode within and without. Surely life itself is a "mine" field, and those entrusted with the education of children are holding in their hands, the delicate seeds of tomorrow, and the hope, the hope for a better world, if we educate in diversity, in love, in the elimination of barriers between us that discriminate.

A definition of Education
Hi Chana, thank you for all your videos. I wanted to present the definition of EDUCATION from Websters 1828 dictionary: "The bringing up as of a child; instruction; formation of manners. Education comprehends all that series of instruction and discipline which is intended to enlighten the understanding, correct the temper, and form the manner and habits of youth, and fit them for usefulness in thier future stations. To give children a good education in manners, arts, and science in important; to give them a religious education is indispensible; and an immense responsibility rests on parents and guardians who neglect these duties."
