Partners in Creation

Poetry of Yehoshua November

A thought about how G-d constantly speaks the world into existence.

Partners In Creation

Every moment G-d recreates the world,
whispering over and over again
the ten Divine utterances
that first gave birth to existence,

the way a child’s world is renewed
when he comes home from school
and his father and mother
still live in the same house,
and he hears them talking at the kitchen table.

From the book G-d's Optimism by Yehoshua November

I know this feeling
I remember, as a child, visiting my grandparents. When I would awaken in the morning, enjoying the warm coziness of my grandparents' old beds, I could hear the echoes of my parents and grandparents conversing around their morning coffee.
It was a multi-level, indescribable feeling of "all was right with my world."
I wonder now, if my own children have something in their own lives that gives them that same feeling.

Another beautiful poem, Jehoshua, I'm going to have to get your book. :)
