Translation:

Happy is the man who does not forget You and the son of the man who strengthened himself in You. For they that seek You shall never stumble: neither shall any ever be put to shame, who trust in You."

Rosh Hashonoh, Musaf Amidah prayer

Musical Notes

This is a deeply moving melody in two sections expressing spiritual adherence. The first section is in a mournful, melancholy yearning mood and the second section is a lively melody of hope. This is the message which the prayer wishes to convey.

This hearfelt meoldy, as the former generation of Chabad Chassidim have transmitted to us, was heard in Lubavitch from the Rebbe Maharash, Rabbi Shmuel, who was the fourth Rebbe of the Chabad dynasty, as he was engrossed in holy ecstasy during the silent prayer of the Rosh Hashonoh Musaf Amidah. According to the published talk of the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yoseph Yitzchok Schneersohn (Pesach 5694), this melody originated with the Tzemach Tzedek, Rabbi Menachem Mendel, the third generation of the Chabad leaders, during the silent devotion of the Rosh Hashonoh Musaf Amidah.
