Lyrics:

Transliteration:

Tzomoh lecho nafshi, komah lechah besari, be'aretz tziyah ve'ayaif beli mayim.

Translation:

My soul thirsts for You, My flesh longs for You, in a dry and weary land without water. So may I look for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory.

Psalms 63: 2,3

Musical Notes

Usually attributed to the Alter Rebbe, it is not certain whether the melody is actually one of his ten compositions. The melody is filled with poignancy and is sung soulfully. It is a favorite of the Rebbe, who revived it on Shabbat Mevorchim in the month of Iyar, 5714 (1954) at a Chassidic gathering.

Composed or Taught By
Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi

Pinchik style?
Who is the singer of Tzomo Lcho Nafshi?
If he isn't doing a good imitation of the Golden Age Chazzen Pinchik it can only be that Pinchik represented a style similar to his.
I love it.

Chabad niggunim
Wow! I can't believe you have them online! I'd love to buy them, too. I grew up with these, although we were not Lubavitcher chassidim. This WAS Jewish music. It still is, nothing like the trash they put out today.

Thank you!
