Oh Chanukah, OH
Thanks for sending this video. My eyes are full of tears and my heart is ponding with joy. I used to sing this song, in iddish, when I was a little girl. Now, as time flew, you´ve sent me back to my parent´s home again.
Happy Chanukakah

Candles.
Would it be acceptable to use Oil candles? that way they will last for DAYS not just half an hour. I wish Hanukkah could be lit up for the whole 8 days

Although I'm not Jeiwish, I think this is a beautiful holiday for the jews, and I love reading and learning about it. I never knew anything about it before, and I thank you for this website. And Happy Hanukkah to all of you.

To BGoldman:
There is a Talmudic rule, "every turn that you take should be toward the right." When we light the right candle on the first night, and then each night light toward the right, we are in accordance with this custom.

where to get oil or candles
You can use regular olive oil like you buy in the grocery store. For candles, you can use any candle that burns long enough to stay lit for at least half an hour into the night.

When to light
Most communities light the menorah shortly after sunset. In other communities, the menorah is kindled after nightfall. For more information please see When to light the Menorah
