I've been listening all day to the Chanukah songs, I'm not Jewish, but I love everything about it. We us a family, keep the Shabbat and the festivals, and need all the help we can get. Thank you for your site Thank you again
I am not a Jewsh man but I am going to celebrate. I am a Christian and can understand some Hebrew. I find this song beautiful.
I really am enjoying this site! I like all of the terrific Chanukah recipies and especially for the latkas. I am using one for the first night. The music puts me in the spirit!
I am jewish and I love the site. Last year I heard the hanuca songs and this year as well. I specially love Haneiros Halalu, the most beautiful song of Hanuca. Congratulations.
I find comfort and joy in listening to the Yiddish songs, although I understand very little of the language.
I am jewish. This is the best haneiros hallalu melody I have ever heard. Deep!
it sounds very nice. I love it.
I am a Jew and celebrate Chanukah. My husband sings this song after we light the menorah and I love it every time he sings. He has a beautiful voice. I think it's a wonderful song and this is gorgeous because there are children singing it!
I am french and don't understand a single word but can feel all the joy in it.
My Great Grandmother emigrated from Germany. She spoke Yiddish, later on we found out she came from a devote Jewish family. I'm trying to found out a little about my past. So thanks.
I thought it might be nice to hear a traditional singing of HaNerot Halelu without the confusion of instrument in the background since that isn't how it sounds in a home or Shul. It would be even nicer if we could download lyrics for the song on the site. Happy Chanukkah!!!
Thank you for the audio. I, too, would like to see the lyrics on the site.
Thank you for having this beautiful arrangement for us all to hear and enjoy. You can really feel the wonder of this miraculous holiday when listening to these singers.
Thank you for sharing with us such beautiful songs and prayers!
Would prefer a less orchestral version so that I might learn the tune. Thanks for the words in Hebrew and English
Though it is difficult to learn the tune with this version, I love the arrangement !! I look forward to listening to it after the chanukah lighting. Thanks
first time heaing the melody reveals the Jewish spirt in song. thanks for sharing to the world.
Thanks so much for sharing this song. I have been listening to christmas music for the past week on some radio stations and called the station to find out if there was a way they could use some songs from other celebrations. Now I am able to send this to them and maybe they will share it with others. Shalom
May G-d bless you for enabling many of us to perpare us in performing all the proper prayers and traditions!
Thank you for sharing with the world
The song is very inspiring and the whole page looks like it will keep me busy learning for a while. Thanks for adding to my knowledge.
I really adore them. They are so dvinely comforting...
It would be great if there could be a less shlocky version up here so people could actually learn how to sing this with their families. It's a real shortcoming that year after year it's still the same overproduced multi-instrumental version instead of something where people could actually learn the melody properly.
Wonderful! Quite revealing... I adore them.
Don't your point. May be you where expecting other melody. But this is the Chabad nigun as it is sung on every Chabad shul around the world. Without orchestration but the choir is the same, may be not so beautiful voices. That's the way we do. Enjoy, bring friends, neighbors, family light your chanukia eat latkales, sufganiots let`s all together remove darkness and bring Mashiach
Can you also post a slower and non-instrumental version so that people can learn to sing it at home more easily?
Could you please make the audio quality better? As I think its rather poor.
Surprised about the orchestration guy - go elsewhere instead of getting disappointed year after year. I love this version and come back 2-3 times a week to listen to Jewish music.
This version is inaccessible to those who are unaccustomed to the song. It is a turn-off. The actual song doesn't start until 1:30 into it. I'm sorry, but I think this is typical of the parochialism that Jews show towards each other. You are so enamored of your own version you aren't thinking of what makes something, well, accessible, to newcomers or the unfamiliar. It's unfortunate. Despite being raised as a Jew, I've never heard this song and was seeking a good example I could sing in my house while I light my candles. Truly, a simpler version might be appealing to those like me. Thank you.
I would like to say thank you. we play this song every night and it is great
I totally agree with anonymous from Astoria and thought it was so sensitive how they put it. Astoria mirrored what I was thinking as I began to listen for the first time. I would like to see two versions since this one is special too--I like the progression, mixture of voices and music.
I just want to thank you for offering this site and the music. I live in a remote small town in california and was raised orthodox consevative but now live with my son. It is so good to be able to hear this music. thank you again. You have performed a mitzvoh for this senior citizen
Thank you for creating a website as this one. It is very thoughtful. Happy Hannukah!
I could listen to the Haneirot Halalu all day.My grandchildren love all the songs and the dreidle game, they are teaching me how to play it. We are not Jewish but love Hannukah and it's meaning. Thank you for the website
Sorry, it was Haneirot Halala that I was searching before and found it here. thank you1
Thank you... I was walking in my hometown, and someone walked right up to me from your organization and gave me a Menorah... This was very special to me... thank you.
Thank you very much for this beautiful audio ! It is very inspiring!
This is wonderful and will add so much to my own Chanukah celebration at home. Thanks!
I am not Jewish but I sure love that music! It is so joy-filled!
Toda Raba for this nice rememberance of my years in the Land.
This is such a beautiful song. Thanks! I wish all a Happy Chanukah tomorrow!
I wish to thank Chabad.org for keeping Jewish tradition alive for people all over the world. Hannuhah Sameach!
As I learn about Chanukah, it was great to find this audio to listen to after the lighting of the candles. Thanks
Excelent information we just did it for the first time. Happy Chanukah! Shalom,
Toda Raba to all who make this site all that it is!
I so appriciate the music, and history here.
It's good to hear yet hard to follow. It would help if the words were written in English together with the music.
Then I could try and sing along !!!
It is very nice. Never expected such a full orchestration
This was so beautiful. I am so thankful for this site.
I have been told that this melody was composed by Chabad Chassidim many years ago when the Mitteler Rebbe was ill and at that time, on Chanukah, only came out to his Chassidim while the Menorah was lit and they sang "Haneiros Hallalu" - this song. The Chassidim, who were longing to see their Rebbe as long as they could, composed this melody, purposely making it beutifull, yet drawn out, for they wnted to see their Rebbe as long as possible... it has since become the Chabad custom to sing this song with "Haneiros Hallalu" each year. And yes, this is the song...
I am quite sure this is a niggun of the Third Lubavitcher Rebbe, The Tzemach Tzedek.
WOW! That was so beautiful! I love this site! I pray Hashem blesses you all so much! Thank you! And Happy Chanukah!
awesome.!! never knew there was this beauty in Chanuka melodies.
This is beautiful Happy Chanukah to all Jews around the world G-d bless you ♥
I am a woman of 75 years of age and have never lit chanukah candles. Tanks to my dear wonderful friends the Tevels of Crown Heights, Bklyn, taught me the meaning what it would be for me to light the candles. Tonight, I am proud to say, i lit the candles and in doing so found a special light in my heart. Thank you dear friends for giving me so much love Roz and Mel Eisner
Wow, this is the first time I celebrated Chanukah. thank you for all the helpful information. It is a blessing to me and my family. Thank G-d for what he is doing in this hour/season for His people!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of G-D
This is so beautiful and so heartfelt. I wish I could see it performed in person. Thank you so much for this - these songs. To hear and sing them in our homes is a delight. Happy Chanukah! And to all disappointed, thank you so much for that explanation! I am not at all disappointed, but I do wish they also had a simple version for us to sing in our homes while lighting our own lights! It would be nice to have both versions available! And more like this beautiful one for us to listen to!
Your comment is accurate, however it was not the Mitteler Rebbe, rather the Rebbe Maharash (R' Shmuel-4th Rebbe)
