Learning the Child

There are no one-way streets in our world. There is no way to give without getting, there is no one who gets but cannot give.

So it is with the child. Just as the adult gives the child the knowledge and wisdom of life, so the child can give the adult the keys of how to live it.

children
this is also valuable because sometimes adults need to see/remember/learn what value we should have in dealing with children. Sometimes in this case, the adults need to be educated in this way, as their parents didn't teach it to them, then they grew up and......don't know fully the value of the give and take (etc) of their relationships with children.

Getting Keys From Children
I have 4 children, and 4 grandchildren, and have been a teacher for almost thirty years. Were it not for the fact that every day, as a parent and teacher, I must also see myself as a student, I would not be who I am.
Children are new souls, pure and unblemished. Their excitement, inquisitiveness, novelty and joy of exploring everything, is fantastic. Every day they want to know new things: Who they are, where they are and for what purpose are they here. We continually need a refresher course in how to use these keys to unlock doors. We need to daily, as a little child, see, experience and take in G-d's creation. Without the questions, we would not grow. Children ask great questions and it is our responsibility to get the answers.
The beauty of G-d’s dealing with us is that he gives us the freedom to choose what and how we do this. That's part of what we have to figure out and learn in every new situation. That's how we get the keys to living from children! Enjoy it!

How does the child get the key?
If the child can give the adult the keys to living, how does that happen? I need to know more about the what and how?

re: Learning the
The elderly can be a little like children at times: stubborn, oppositional, contrary, . . . and it can be difficult to see the love they have for you, and show the love you have for them.

I recently lost my 93 year old mother who I've been assisting for the past 4 years. Now I have to wait till Moshiach comes to see her again, may it be soon. Hopefully by then I'll learn to be the son I now so painfully realize I should have been when I had her with me.
