Tehillim - Psalms - Chapter 113


Chapter 113

1. Hallelujah! Praise, you servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.   א.
2. May the name of the Lord be blessed from now and to eternity.   ב.
3. From the rising of the sun until its setting, the name of the Lord is praised.   ג.
4. The Lord is high over all nations; upon the heavens is His glory.   ד.
5. Who is like the Lord, our God, Who dwells on high,   ה.
Who is like the Lord, our God: in heaven and earth, who dwells on high and lowers His eyes to see? מושיבי, להושיבי, מקימי, משפילי, מגביהי, all have a superfluous “yud.”   :
6. Who lowers [His eyes] to look in the heavens and the earth?   ו.
7. He lifts the pauper up from the dust, from the dungheap He raises up the needy,   ז.
8. To seat [him] with princes, with the princes of His people.   ח.
9. He seats the barren woman of the house as a happy mother of children. Hallelujah!   ט.
the barren woman of the house: Zion, which is like a barren womanHe will seat her.   :
as a happy mother of children: (Isa. 66:8): “that Zion both experienced birth pangs and bore her children.”   :
