Dancing With Us

This self we are conscious of, it is only a tiny portion of the whole, a finely focussed constriction of light, the tip of a peninsula from a great, fertile continent.

Upstream lies unimaginable wealth, storehouses of treasures left by many generations. There can be found the deeds and wisdom of our holy mothers and fathers, the iron courage of every martyr, the eternal power of G‑d’s breath within His eternal people.

Next time you dance and sing in the joy of a beautiful deed, hear your holy mothers and fathers of ages past dancing and singing along with you.

Based on letters and talks of the Rebbe, Rabbi M. M. Schneerson
From the wisdom of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, of righteous memory; words and condensation by Rabbi Tzvi Freeman. To order Rabbi Freeman’s book, Bringing Heaven Down to Earth, click here.

To Elhannah
Hopefuly, by now ,you are the mother of a beautiful and healthy boy or a beautiful and healthy girl!

But my first thought when reading your comment was that you could also think of our holy mother Hannah, the mother of prophet Shmuel, dancing and singing along with you in your joy.

Very touching
This morning I am going into hospital to have tests to discover why I cannot get pregnant. This was very apt to read on the morning of my appointment and I will think of our holy mothers and fathers today, especially Rachel who I believe is with me always.

Dancing and Singing with our holy ancestors.
Thank you, Reb Freeman,

I really like this: to listen and to "hear" our holy matriarchs and patriarchs singing and dancing with me, just as when we became b'nei chorin (free people). They have visited me, and surprised me, but now I will listen more openly in joy, and invite them in with me, just as I have done in the sukkahs this Sukkot.

I don't need a veil of schach to allow the connecting light of the Divine to flow through. I just need a ittle more consciousness.

Shabbat shalom and Chag Sameach,
