Appendix III

A Passage from one of the Previous Rebbe’s Letters

1In the beginning of the winter of 5657, because of his ill health, my father, the Rebbe [Rashab], traveled with my mother and myself to Moscow for therapeutic purposes. In Moscow, the Rebbe delivered the maamar VeYadaata HaYom, which the chassidim refer to as “VeYadaata of Moscow.”

(It is worthy of note that I have seen several copies of this maamar which state that it was delivered in 5656. This is an error, for it was delivered in 5657.2)
