Ways of Peace

Our mission in life is not to shake up the world but to fasten its pegs. Not to climb to the heavens and holler and roar, but to walk softly on the ground. Not to create a storm but rather a dwelling, an earthly home for the essence of G‑d.

If a storm is needed, so it shall be. As for us, we will continue on our path, the path of Torah, solidly planted on the earth. A path of pleasantness and peace, bringing order to chaos step by step, until all the boundlessness of the Infinite Light is arranged firmly in our world.

Enjoy your peace
Sheep are very peaceful animals, and wolves love to eat them. We are not at the time when the wolf will lie downin peace with the lamb; so if you are one you will be eaten!

Send settlers out to the territories with no guns to defend themselves: lambs to the slaughter

Give away our G-d given land, so the wolves are at our doorsteps: lambs to the slaughter

Refuse to sanctify the land of Israel, and pray to the material idols of the alien nations: lambs to the slaughter.

Depend on other nations instead of G-d and our own hands for protection: lambs to the slaughter.

Pray inside, while the wolves/Germans/Arabs are knocking down the door: lambs to the slaughter.

Unfortunately, lambs are stupid creatures, and do not learn quickly, if ever!

I prefer being a Lion of Judah, to being a lamb. What do you wish to be?

Fastening Pegs
Without an understanding of Torah every night to recite...when the sun goes down. To lay the groundwork for the path involves building bridges to cross to travel to the earthly home for the essence of G-d.

Softly...
This was beautiful to read, especially in the current days w such turmoil in the ME. Ranting & Roaring for some of us is the first reaction...this is a great reminder.

Path of pleasantness and peace?
Studying with a Chabad Rabbi weekly, I am very familiar with the philosophy of spreading Torah, and not offending anyone, or "rocking the boat". Where are the prophets to wake us up from our sleep. The Temple has not been rebuilt, we are surrounded by enemies who wish our destruction, babies are killed in the furnaces of Morach, and iniquity reins across the land. And we should walk softly, and pray quietly for peace. NO!!!

IF we as Jews do speak up loudly, so that even the angels in Heaven hear, who will? We must pick up the Torah with our right hand, and with a sword in the left, go out and prepare to confront evil. Those who remain in their synagogues praying for peace, will be killed just like the Jews in Germany. The time is coming when we will have to choose to fight on the side of G-d, or perish with the alien nations. People's eyes are closed, and their ears do not hear the coming storm. The time for peace is coming to an end. get ready! Be a Torah warrior!

From the regular
First of all I want to say how beautiful that was and the first thing that comes to mind is learning my breakfast prayers for the morning and some Torah tonight-and I- I like drinking electrolyte water to calm me and get me ready for G-d. Thank you for reading this

Thank you
I just want to say thank you to Rabbi Tzvi Freeman and your people, Jews for not holding the light but transforming the darkness for every person on this planet.

Very interesting argument. The Torah is fraught with conflict internal and external but perhaps once the final conquest for the Land is accomplished, peace can characterize the final stage--- the Moshiach stage ---and our task is to do what we can to merit him. Or not. Perhaps mankind's existence isn't compatible with peace and only G-d's grace can bring that final fulfillment. I'm glad you brought this up.
