Convergence Point

There is no such thing as a mitzvah done alone.

In a mitzvah, space, time and consciousness converge. You nod your consent, and a flood of generations flows through you to do the rest.

Together with you, every soul of our people, wherever they may be, are swept along in the current.

The Rebbe didn't use those words, but he often made this point: that we can accomplish what we need accomplish now not on our own strength, but with the power of all the generations before us. The concept is that nothing that is real ever really perishes. If it is real it is eternal. So their power and their merits are with us now as they were then.

Unity
When you state that a flood of generations flow through you to do the rest, is this based upon a Kabalistic concept? Or is this a metaphor for the covenant?
