Hiding Behind His Hand

Once in a while, He seems to be peeking through the latticework of our world, filling the day with light.

But then there are times He hides His face behind a thick wall, and we are confused.

We cry out to Him, loudly, for He must be far away.

He is not far away. For the latticework is His holy hand, and the walls themselves are sustained by His word.

Based on letters and talks of the Rebbe, Rabbi M. M. Schneerson

seems 2 me
it seems to me that it is us peeking behind his latticework and NOT vice versa.

one great poem deserves another
Thou

an open window
I put my hands through
a glass globe
a blinking universe
I will crawl through the desert
to reach you
I will not stop loving you
not mirage

you show yourself
your multicolored cloak
hides the entire world

Hiding Behind Hs Hand
When G-D has the wall up, Is it His way to communicate that communication with Him is in a different mode?He is still there but the wall is up. Is this a time when tragedy can happen?

It is interesting that we cover our eyes saying the beginning of the Shema? To hear? not see? professing our love of Hashem. Perhaps it is professing His love for us at that time yet we are confused.

Could it be that Hashem does not distiniguish between good and evil deeds and He is confused. Like a person who prays to be successful to rob a bank? or a person who pretends to be another person who is praying and then they do not take time to pray but want to succeed so they chose to pretend? This is confusing.

Hiding Behind His Hand
My favorite Rabbi Tzvi Freeman,
I only know you are correct but I don't know how or when to be patient....is G-d there for me
That is a question I try to avoid when I am alone
and pray to G-d for strenght, courage and wisdom to take me on the path He has chosen for me.The path at times seems to be full of booby traps I can't see. I don't hide I just keep the faith. Yes, I read the scriptures of the gifted Maimonedes and go blindly into battle.
