Psalm 100

A Song of Gratitude

Gratitude if always on the top list of every recovering addict. Being grateful allows us to go out of our own stinking thinking and into a selfless state of giving.

The introductory text to Psalm 100 reads as follows:

This psalm inspires the hearts of those who suffer in this world. Let them, nevertheless, serve God with joy, for all is for their good, as in the verse: "He whom God loves does He chastise." The psalm also refers to the thanksgiving sacrifice-the only sacrifice to be offered in the Messianic era.

1. A song for a thanksgiving offering. Shout to the Lord, all the earth.

2. Serve the Lord with joy, come before Him with praise.

3. Know that the Lord is God; He made us and we are His, people and the flock of His pasture.

4. Come into His gates with thanksgiving, [into] His courtyards with praise; give thanks to Him, bless His name.

5. For the Lord is good; His kindness is forever, and until generation after generation is His faith.
