How do I bake dairy if I only have a meat oven?

Question:

I live in an apartment and have only one oven. How do I bake dairy as the oven is mainly used for meat?

Answer:

It's pretty simple. Any dairy you bake in that oven has to be wrapped in a double layer. Aluminum foil is great. Make sure each wrapping is complete, covers the food entirely, and goes all the way around the entire pan or pot—not just the opening. The food and your oven will both be completely kosher.

If it's an option, you might want to consider getting a smaller convection or toaster oven for dairy. They work just like a regular oven, and are usually not too expensive, and don't need much room.

I don't know why, but this question made me...
Chuckle. On another site, it said that we may all be Jews but we're all on a different rung of the ladder. I think that would put me WAY CLOSE to the bottom, because I don't stick so closely to these rules. There are some basic ones I use in my life, and when I can't do those, I don't have a conniption fit. I just plan on doing better next time. I don't really get the emphasis on following laws to the jot and tittle, littlest minute things. I just don't get it. There are so many DEEPER issues in life. Poverty, hunger, homelessness, orphans, spousal and child abuse, crime, wars, air pollution, man's inhumanity to man, meanness, selfishness, cruelty to animals, etc, etc, etc. To spend so much time on whether to use two or three layers of aluminum foil in an oven seems incomprehensible to me. I feel like saying, "Get a life!" But, I do, out of respect, understand that if something is important to a person, it's important!

Dairy in a meat oven
I believe that another alternative would be to plan when you would want to bake dairy and then do a clean cycle on your oven to kasher it. When you are done with your dairy baking you can run the clean cycle again to kasher it out. Now you can use it for meat.

Dairy in meat oven
I am in the same situation. My solution is not to bake dairy. Most things you want to bake do not require dairy and there are great substitutes. For example soy milk, nut milk or tofu can supply creaminess in breads.

There are tons of great vegan recipes you can find on line and with minimal experimentation no one will no the difference.

One oven ...
Another alternative, similar to the toaster-oven, is a slow cooker. This is essentially a portable oven with an earthenware or stoneware container inside, used to cook at a low temperature for a long time.

Thank you for your response.
I'll assume its probably better to double wrap in tin foil. I'm not sure all the bits behind the fan and at the top of the roof of the oven are ever gonna get off. I'll tell ya why. the roof has heated metal bars on the top and its actually seeming impossible to do. Rather than get a Rabbi out when i'm only gonna be here for about 6 wks i think i'll double wrap everything. Is that halachakially sound because i've no idea how to blow it.

Answer to Debbie
I think you should contact a qualified Rabbi in Manchester to help you kosher your oven. Its better to let an expert with experience advise you and then handle it, especially when dealing with ovens. Much luck!

I thought it wasn't ok to use the self clean mode to switch back and forth from meat to dairy

I'm trying to kosher my oven
Do i just give it a good scrub
Or
Do I get a blow on it

I am worried about the bits at the back coz its a fan oven and i'm worried that particles may come flying out even after a decent blow

also
There shouldn't be any steam or moisture or food between the wrappings, so practically it might be a good idea to use three.
